Indoor swimming pool for the Republic of Germany
Standing strong at dizzying heights
Public swimming pools increase the attractiveness of smaller communities in particular as a place to live and work. The "2521 Simply Swimming" project concept developed years ago in the Netherlands aims to make the construction and maintenance of indoor swimming pools more cost-effective for local authorities.
In 2020, the Hanseatic city of Anklam awarded the contract to build a 2521 swimming pool to HAB and mele Energietechnik GmbH from Torgelow. After 17 months of construction, the "Schwimmbad Anklam" consortium handed over the "Hansebad Anklam" to the client at the end of November 2021. The multifunctional hall has eight swimming lanes, each 25 metres long. The water depth can be adjusted for children and rehab patients in three lanes using a lifting floor. The functionality of the hall is focussed on the 25 x 21 metre swimming pool. HAB constructed the entire building. Mele Energietechnik was responsible for equipping the building with heating, electrical and air conditioning technology as well as a water treatment system. The 2521 system was customised to meet German building law and fire protection requirements. This enabled close coordination between all parties involved and the individual construction phases became more transparent for the client.
The "Hansebad Anklam" is the first indoor swimming pool in Germany to be built according to the 2521 system.
